85-Year-Old Man Swept Away in Brahmaputra River, Loses Life

Majuli: In a tragic incident occurred on the morning of July 13 in Majuli. An 85-year-old man lost his life after being swept away by the powerful currents of the Brahmaputra River. The deceased, identified as Bhogeshwar Bora, resident of Gayan village under the jurisdiction of Jengraimukh police station in Ujani Majuli revenue circle.

According to reports, the unfortunate incident took place while Bora was bathing in the Brahmaputra, as he did routinely. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he was swept away by the forceful water currents. Local authorities and residents swiftly launched a search and rescue operation, and the man’s lifeless body was recovered approximately 10 meters away from the spot where he fell into the ravines of the river.
