134th IndianOil Durand Cup to Begin on July 22, Will Be Held in Five States

Sports Desk: The 134th edition of the IndianOil Durand Cup, will take place from July 22 to August 23, 2025. This year, the tournament will be hosted in five statesWest Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Jharkhand.

The tournament is being organised by the Eastern Command of the Indian Army. Matches will be held in six cities:

  • Kolkata (Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan & Kishore Bharati Krirangan)
  • Imphal (Khuman Lampak Stadium)
  • Kokrajhar (SAI Stadium)
  • Shillong (Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium)
  • Jamshedpur or Ranchi (JRD Tata Sports Complex or Morhabadi Stadium)

Kokrajhar is hosting for the third year in a row, while Imphal returns as a host after two years. Shillong and Jamshedpur continue from last year.

A total of 24 teams, including all Indian Super League (ISL) teams and armed forces teams, will take part. The tournament has also seen foreign army teams in recent years.

Last year, North East United FC won their first title by beating Mohun Bagan in the final.

The winning team will receive three trophies: the Durand Cup, Shimla Trophy, and the President’s Cup (which they get to keep).

The tournament aims to promote football and bring the sport closer to fans across the country, especially in the North-East region.
