Guwahati: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is preparing for Mahakumbh 2025, aiming to make it a global celebration of India’s cultural unity. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi conducted a roadshow in Guwahati, inviting the people of Assam to participate in the event, scheduled from January 13 to February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj.
The festival will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including smart parking, clean drinking water, and a digital platform with AI-powered chatbots and multilingual apps. Over 450 million pilgrims are expected, with advanced systems for crowd management, including RFID wristbands and GPS tracking.
With 44 ghats, aerial flower showers, a Marine Drive-inspired riverfront, and upgraded health facilities, the event will be clean, green, and safe. The government aims to showcase India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, emphasizing the Mahakumbh’s role in promoting unity in diversity globally.
