St. Patrick’s High School, Jharkhand, Clinches Junior Girls’ Subroto Cup

New Delhi: St. Patrick’s High School in Gumla, Jharkhand, secured a thrilling victory in the 62nd Subroto Cup Junior (U 17) Girls Inter School International Football Tournament. They defeated G.S.S.S Alakhpura of Bhiwani, Haryana, with a commanding 3-0 score in the final at the Dr. B.R Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. Anita Dungdung shone with two goals, while Shaulina Dang added the third. The winning team received the trophy from Air Marshal A.P Singh PVSM, AVSM, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, the event’s Chief Guest.

Vasant Valley School in New Delhi was honored with the Fair Play Trophy and Rs. 50,000 for their sportsmanship. St. Patrick’s High School’s Suraj Muni was awarded the Safe Hand Trophy and Rs. 25,000 as the best goalkeeper. Beena Kerketa of St. Patrick’s High School, Jharkhand, received the Best Coach award with a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. G.S.S.S Alakhpura, Bhiwani, Haryana, was named the Best School, earning Rs. 40,000. Anita Dungdung of St. Patrick’s High School, Jharkhand, was hailed as the Best Player, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 40,000.

The runner-up in the tournament was rewarded with Rs. 2,00,000 and the runner-up trophy. The Subroto Cup champions, St. Patrick’s High School, received the Winner’s Trophy along with a cheque for Rs. 3,50,000.
