Security Forces Recover Weapons and Ammunition in Manipur

Manipur: Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police conducted multiple joint operations in Manipur, recovering weapons and ammunition from various districts. The security forces carried out these operations in Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Thoubal districts.

On January 26, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police acted on intelligence and launched an operation in Nepali Basti, Veitum Khullen – Khoken village Road in Kangpokpi. They recovered a 5.56 mm rifle, a 7.62 mm rifle, a modified .303 sniper rifle, a .22 pistol, a single-barrel rifle, two improvised mortars, grenades, ammunition, and other warlike stores.

On the same day, security forces arrested a cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) in Waithou, Thoubal district. They also seized ammunition from the arrested person.

On January 28, the Indian Army, along with CRPF and Manipur Police, launched an operation between Loilamkot and Nalon villages in Churachandpur. They recovered six long-range rockets (5-6 feet long), a launcher stand, a country-made mortar, ammunition, and warlike stores.

On January 30, in a follow-up operation, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police raided Chairel Khunou in Kakching district. They seized a 9mm rifle, a 9mm pistol, two grenades, ammunition, and other warlike items.

The arrested individuals and recovered weapons have been handed over to Manipur Police.
