London: The Nehru Centre, London, the cultural wing of the High Commission of India, hosted a beautiful evening of classical Indian dance. The event featured Mridusmita Das Bora, a young award-winning dancer from Assam, who presented the traditional Sattriya dance along with her team members Astha Goswami and Nistha Barman.

The event was attended by Sujit Ghose, Deputy High Commissioner of India to the UK, along with many dance lovers and members of the Indian community in London.

Before the performance, the audience learned about the history of Sattriya dance.

Mridusmita Das Bora, who is recognised for her graceful and powerful performances, impressed the audience with her team’s beautiful dance pieces. Their performance included stories from Indian mythology and devotional themes, filled with expressive movements, fast footwork, and traditional music.
