Guwahati: Noted Assamese singer Gayatri Hazarika passed away at a private hospital in Guwahati after a prolonged illness, leaving the music community and her admirers in mourning. She breathed her last late last night, following ongoing treatment for a chronic health condition over the past two years.
Sources close to the family confirmed that the veteran artist was admitted to the hospital as her health deteriorated in recent days.
