Purabi Dairy Opens Prefabricated Milk Booth at Janata Bhawan

Guwahati: Northeast India’s dairy cooperative, Purabi, inaugurated a prefabricated milk booth at the entrance of Janata Bhawan. The booth was inaugurated by Dr. B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, in the presence of senior officials, including Aruna Rajoria, IAS, and Virendra Mittal, IAS.

Organized by the West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Ltd (WAMUL) and North East Dairy and Foods Limited (NEDFL), the initiative is part of the World Bank-funded APART Project. The booth offers a wide range of Purabi products, such as milk, curd, paneer, ghee, ice cream, and more, making healthy choices accessible in the heart of Dispur.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chakravarthy emphasized that under Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership, Assam is advancing the dairy sector, with initiatives like Purabi booths promoting healthier lifestyles and employment opportunities.

The prefabricated milk booths, set up across Guwahati at locations like GMCH, Assam State Zoo, and Khanapara, aim to enhance milk product availability and offer entrepreneurial opportunities.
