Guwahati: The students of OIL Pragyan Super 30 coaching centres in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have once again made the region proud with their outstanding results in the JEE Mains 2025.
In a major achievement, 25 out of 30 students from the Guwahati centre, 28 each from Nagaon and Dibrugarh centres, and 29 out of 30 from the Itanagar centre successfully cleared the national-level engineering entrance exam.
At a press conference held in Guwahati, OIL (Oil India Limited) shared that this free coaching initiative began in 2010 to support bright students from economically weaker sections. The program offers 11 months of free, residential coaching and mentorship to prepare for JEE (Mains & Advanced) and NEET. It aims to provide equal opportunities and help students from poor backgrounds reach top institutions like IITs, NITs, and top medical colleges.
Currently, OIL offers JEE coaching at centres in Guwahati, Nagaon, Dibrugarh (Assam) and Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh). For NEET, a separate centre operates in Jorhat, Assam.
Authority said that since its launch, 1,361 out of 1,482 students trained at the four centres have secured seats in premier institutes including IITs, ISM Dhanbad, IISERs, IIITs, NITs, and more.
Students are selected through a two-step process—a written test followed by an interview. Only students whose family income is less than ₹4 lakh per year are eligible to apply. The program not only focuses on academics but also builds character, discipline, and leadership qualities.
