Guwahati: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) proudly unveiled the cutting-edge National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati on August 11th.

A significant moment in Indian sports history occurred as BAI and the Government of Assam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the launch event.

This state-of-the-art badminton hub boasts 16 courts, seating for 3553 spectators, player hostels, and coach quarters, all sprawling across a 40,000-square-foot area.

Distinguished guests, including Assam’s Chief Minister and BAI President Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Olympic champion and badminton icon Taufik Hidayat, India’s chief coach Pullela Gopichand, members of the legendary Thomas Cup-winning team, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Assam Nandita Gorlosa, Dalipkumar Seth, President of Sunrise Group of Companies, Vivek Dewangan, CMD of REC, and Vikram Dhar, Managing Director of Sunrise Sports (India), graced the grand inauguration ceremony alongside prominent BAI officials.
