Tezpur: A book titled Axomiya Nepali, authored by Dr. Ranjan Kumar Bhatta, was formally unveiled Tezpur on May 16.
The book was released by newly elected MLA Ritu Baran Sharma from Barachala constituency in the presence of distinguished guests and literary enthusiasts.
Dr. Bhatta is a senior professor and Head of the English Department at Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College.
The book primarily reflects the lifestyle, culture and traditions of the Nepali community living in Assam. In Axomiya Nepali, Dr. Bhatta has discussed various aspects of Assamese Nepali life, including their history, customs, traditional attire, cuisine, festivals, folk dance and music.
The publication is expected to serve as an important reference for students, researchers and readers interested in the socio-cultural heritage of the Nepali community in Assam.
