Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan Reviews Border Road Projects

Guwahati: Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan, VSM, Director General of Border Roads (DGBR), concluded a three-day visit to Guwahati, Tawang, and West Kameng areas to inspect ongoing road construction by Project Vartak.

During his stop in Guwahati, Mr. Harendra Kumar, AVSM, VSM, Additional Director General Border Roads (East), provided updates on critical border road projects across the Northeast.

In Tawang, Lt Gen Srinivasan conducted an aerial survey of strategic roads in the Zimithang sector, covering Nelya, Dhaula, and Hatonga areas, and forward regions like Lungro, Damteng, and Yangtse. He also met Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu to discuss future road infrastructure projects, alongside key local officials, including the Tawang MLA and Deputy Commissioner.

At the Sela Tunnel, located at 13,000 feet, Lt Gen Srinivasan reviewed operations and safety measures, including the SCADA system for real-time monitoring. As the longest bi-lane tunnel in the region, the Sela Tunnel ensures all-weather connectivity between Guwahati and Tawang.
