The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team in Assam discovered more than ₹45 lakh in cash at the home of an engineer.
On August 17, Manuj Kumar Saikia, an Executive Engineer from PWD (R&B), Haflong Division, Dima Hasao District, was caught red-handed by the vigilance team. He was apprehended in his office while accepting a bribe to release pending bills from a complainant.

Following his arrest, a search of Manuj Kumar Saikia’s home led to the recovery of a substantial amount of cash totaling ₹45,54,385 (Forty-Five Lakh, Fifty-Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty-Five rupees).
