Indian Army Recognizes Young Achievers in Manipur

Manipur: In a heartwarming ceremony held in Bishnupur, the Indian Army celebrated the exceptional achievements of bright young talents from Manipur in the Super-50 programme. The event, graced by Mr. Lourenbam Bikram, IAS, DC Bishnupur, and Mr. S Ravi Kumar, IPS, SP Bishnupur, witnessed the felicitation of six outstanding students who successfully cleared the JEE Mains Examination 2024 after rigorous preparation.

Under the guidance of the Army and NEIDO, students Sahid Ali, Oinam Ronenson Singh, Roshan Kumar Gupta, Honghsha Shelpungman, Ronaldo Yumnam, and Sashikanta Singh showcased their brilliance by excelling in the prestigious examination on their first attempt. Their dedication and perseverance serve as an inspiration to aspiring students across the region.

Additionally, the ceremony honored four accomplished Wushu players, Ms. Tamphasana Devi, Mr. N Bidiyasagarh Singh, Ms. Koijam Yaisana Devi, and Ms. A Gracy Devi, for their outstanding performances in various competitions, including Khelo India, East Zone, North East Games, and Sub-Junior National Championships. Their achievements highlight the rich sporting talent present in Manipur and the relentless pursuit of excellence by its athletes.

Master Thomas Singh, a brave young Wushu player from Thanga, was also recognized for his remarkable resilience in overcoming adversity. Despite facing an accident during the Wushu Championships in February 2024, Thomas Singh displayed unwavering determination and a fighting spirit that inspired many.

The felicitation ceremony, organized by the Red Shield Centre for Wellness and Excellence, reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to nurturing and empowering the youth of Bishnupur. In these challenging times, the achievements of these young achievers serve as a source of inspiration, showcasing their passion, grit, and determination to succeed against all odds.
