Meerut: On the 246th Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) Day, the Indian Army gifted 12 retired military dogs to Asha Schools for special children and compassionate citizens. These canine heroes, trained for vital roles like detecting explosives, avalanche rescues, and search operations, will now serve society in a new way.

The initiative highlights the Army’s commitment to honouring its silent warriors, offering these loyal dogs a fulfilling retirement. Indigenous breeds like Mudhol Hound and Rampur Hound were among those gifted, bringing therapeutic benefits to children and companionship to families.

Retired canines are cared for at the Canine Geriatric Centre in Meerut Cantt, ensuring comfort in their golden years. This program reflects the Indian Army’s respect for its brave four-legged soldiers, fostering love and compassion in society.
