Guwahati Teenager to Receive Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024

Guwahati: In a notable achievement, 15-year-old Saiyam Mazumdar from Guwahati has been named among the recipients of the Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 for his commendable contributions to social service, particularly in the realms of wildlife conservation and animal rescue. The Ministry of Women and Child Development announced this recognition in a press release on January 19.

Saiyam, a class 10 student at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, gained previous acknowledgment in July 2023 from the India Book of Records for his passionate animal rescue efforts. His dedication to saving snakes, dogs, and rabbits from injury earned him the title of “animal lover at a young age.”

Saiyam, is set to receive the honor from the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, on January 22 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Additionally, he is scheduled to engage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23 and participate in the Republic Day parade on January 26.
