Guwahati: The Guwahati Sports Association successfully organized the Inter Club Badminton Championship 2024-25 on April 1st and 2nd at Kanaklata Indoor Stadium, R.G. Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
A total of 12 affiliated clubs participated in the tournament, with 101 players competing in various categories. The participating clubs were FC Green Valley, Sunrise Athletic Club, Maharana AC, Gauhati Town Club, Dynamo Club, Frontier Club, Rajbari Athletic Club, Guwahati City FC, New Star Club, Navarang Club, Bud Cricket Club, and Assam Seniors Badminton Club.
Opening & Closing Ceremonies
The championship was inaugurated by Gautam Mahanta, Honorary Treasurer of Assam Badminton Association, who was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony. Sujit Dey, Assistant General Manager, Marketing & Communication Department, SBI, Guwahati, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The closing ceremony was graced by Omar Rashid, Honorary Secretary of Assam Badminton Association, as the Chief Guest. Parag Moni Mahanta, Director of Handloom & Textile, Government of Assam, attended as Guest of Honour, along with senior officials from the Guwahati Sports Association. Rup Kr. Burhagohain was the Chief Referee of the tournament.

Champion: Pranjita Buragohain (Maharana AC)
Runner-up: Hridaysha Sarkar (Sunrise Athletic Club)
3rd Position: Kritika Tamuli (Sunrise Athletic Club), Ayushi Bhuyan (Assam Seniors Badminton Club)
The championship showcased some excellent performances and highlighted the growing badminton talent in Assam.
