Guwahati: The city police have successfully recovered 113 cattle from various locations. Three separate seizures were made at different police stations – Sonapur PS, Khetri PS, and Basistha PS (Jorabat OP).
In one incident, a 12-wheeler truck with registration number NL-01-AB-4928 was intercepted at Jorabat, Meghalaya. The truck was illegally transporting 35 live cattle from Dhemaji to Brnyihat via Jalukbari. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Akramin Hussain, has been apprehended by Jorabat police.
Furthermore, Sonapur police detained a truck bearing registration number AS01 NC 7286. This truck was involved in the illegal transportation of 42 cows from Sivasagar to Barnyhat, Meghalaya. The driver, Sadam Hussein, and another individual named Sadiqul Islam have been apprehended.
In a separate incident, Khetri police intercepted and detained a truck carrying 36 cattle from Silapathar to Barnyhat, Meghalaya, on the Nagaon side. The driver and other individuals involved in the unlawful transportation of the cattle have been apprehended.
Necessary legal actions will be taken against all individuals responsible for these illegal activities.
