Guwahati : Ashok Sarma, a former BJP MLA from Nalbari, is likely to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). On July 11, Sarma attended a meeting at Kamakhya Guest House in Guwahati with AAP’s North East in-charge Rajesh Sarma, and AAP Assam leaders Dr. Bhaben Choudhury, Romen Borthakur, and Mamun Imdadul Haque Chawdhury.

Sources indicate that the discussion focused on Sarma’s potential joining of AAP.
Notably, Sarma has also been in talks with the Congress party regarding his future political plans, according to recent media reports. Earlier in March, he publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the seat-sharing arrangement within the BJP for the Lok Sabha constituency, fueling speculation about his next political move.
