Guwahati: The Assam State Election Commission has announced the election schedule for the 36 constituencies of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council. The polls will be held on April 2 from 7 AM to 3 PM, with re-polling, if needed, on April 3. The counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on April 4.
The last date for filing nominations is March 15, with scrutiny scheduled for March 17. The final list of candidates will be published on March 19 after the withdrawal deadline at 3 PM.
A total of 4,45,586 voters, including 2,16,181 male voters, 2,29,394 female voters, and 11 others, are eligible to vote. There will be 630 polling stations. Among the 36 constituencies, 25 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes, including four for women. Eleven constituencies remain unreserved, with two designated for women.
The expenditure limit for each candidate is ₹2.50 lakh. Recognized national and state political parties can have up to 20 star campaigners, while registered unrecognized parties can have up to 10.
Voters must carry an Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) or alternative identification such as Aadhaar, PAN card, passport, driving license, MNREGA job card, or other government-issued IDs.
The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect in areas under the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council.
