Guwahati: Assam’s Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, distributed aids and appliances to Children with Special Needs (CwSN) at a special event organized by Samagra Shiksha, Assam on February 11, 2025. The event took place at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara, Guwahati.
The minister handed over essential aids such as tricycles, wheelchairs, cerebral palsy chairs, crutches, rollators, smart canes, Braille kits, smartphones, walking sticks, and hearing aids to the beneficiaries. Children from Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, and Morigaon districts attended the event.
This initiative is part of Assam’s inclusive education program, ensuring equal learning opportunities for children with disabilities. A total of 9,260 aids and appliances will be distributed to 6,464 beneficiaries across the state, including 3,828 boys and 2,636 girls.
Dr. Pegu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting children with special needs, enabling them to lead independent and empowered lives.
