Guwahati: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sandipan Garg, a relative of late singer Zubeen Garg, has been remanded to seven days’ custody under the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after being produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
According to reports, the SIT had sought 14 days of custody, but the court granted only seven.
Sandipan, who had accompanied Zubeen Garg to Singapore, was interrogated by the SIT for the fifth consecutive day before his formal arrest. The exact grounds of arrest have not yet been disclosed.
