Guwahati: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to complete repair of roads, footpaths and manholes in Guwahati ahead of Durga Puja.
Chairing a meeting with senior officials, the Chief Minister asked the department to prepare a standard operating protocol to ensure manholes and drain covers are properly closed after cleaning. He also instructed that the under-construction Noonmati–Dighalipukhuri flyover be made convenient for public use during the festival.
Dr. Sarma further ordered immediate repair of key roads in Guwahati, Cachar and Sribhumi districts before the celebrations. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Principal Secretary to the CM Dr. K. K. Dwivedi, GMC Commissioner M. S. Lakshmipriya, and PWD Commissioner Paban Terang.
