Guwahati: The State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) launched an Automated Panipuri Vending Machine at the Janata Bhawan Canteen in Dispur on April 8, 2025.
The machine, called “Golpe – Panipuri Vending Machine,” was developed by Saurav Sarma and Abhijit Nath, co-founders of Pekhansa Pvt. Ltd. SITA and the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) supported the project.
The vending machine prepares and serves panipuri automatically. It uses clean, flavoured water and works with less human contact. The machine can run 24/7 and gives safe, fast, and clean service.
SITA Vice Chairman Narayan Chandra Borkataky and Co-Vice Chairman Dhruba Prasad Baishya attended the launch event. Officials from ASTEC, IIT Guwahati, and Janata Bhawan were also present.
The event ended with a live demo, where guests tasted panipuri from the machine. The machine is expected to be used in more places across Assam and India.
