Guwahati: Assamese song “Roon Jhoon Jhoon” won the Best Music Video Award at the 5th International Star Film Festival in Kolkata on March 9.
The song’s creator, Dr. Aparna Buzarbarua, also received the Salil Chowdhury Award for Best Music Director. Sung by Dr. Sangita Kakati and featuring Meghranjani Medhi’s dance, the video was directed by Antareep Hazarika.
The festival saw participation from 65 countries, with 290 awards in 47 categories. This marks the fourth award for the song’s video.
Dr. Buzarbarua, who has composed over 100 songs, expressed her joy and said this recognition is a proud moment for Assam’s music industry.
