Assam U-16 team plays draw against BCB U15

The Assam Under-16 cricket team battled to a hard-fought draw against the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Under-15 team in their second three-day match at the Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Bangladesh, on Sunday.

After BCB U15 posted 161 in 64.5 overs losing all the wickets in their first innings after they were invited to bat, Assam U16 responded with 157/10, setting the stage for an intense contest.

In the second innings, BCB U15 managed 226/10 in 94.3 overs, with notable contributions from Arbaz Islam (47) and Shimanto Roy Rinku (41).

Facing a challenging target, Assam U16 showcased resilience, led by outstanding performances from Julien Konwar, who remained unbeaten with a brilliant 92, and Achyut Das, who scored a valiant 71. Despite the efforts of Arbaz Islam (2/31) and Jibon Rahman (2/56), who picked up crucial wickets, Assam U16 managed to reach 190/5 in 61 overs, ensuring the match ended in a draw.

In the first three-day match, Assam U16 earned an 8-wicket win. Thus the visitors won the series 1-0. Now, Assam U16 will play three one-day matches against the BCB U15 team.

Shimanto Roy Rinku of BCB U15 was adjudged player of the match for his all-round display.
