Borthakur Slams BJP Over Price Hike and Corruption
Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Trinamool Congress (APTC) President Romen Chandra Borthakur announced that the party will contest around 500 candidates in the upcoming panchayat elections across Assam.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Borthakur strongly criticized the BJP-led state government for rising prices and corruption.
He said, “People are burdened by high prices of essentials, medicines, and cooking gas. The BJP is harassing the common people. This cannot be accepted.”
He also accused two BJP MLAs of being involved in corruption and said the Trinamool Congress will continue to raise these issues.
The party organized a protest against price rise, led by the Trinamool Youth Congress, with participation from Kamrup (Metro) District Trinamool Congress and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad.
