Assam Rifles Hosts ‘Samman Samaroh’ to Honour Retiring Officers

Shillong: The Assam Rifles organized a ‘Samman Samaroh’ at its headquarters in Shillong to honor 119 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs) retiring on August 31, 2024. The event celebrated the dedicated service of these personnel, highlighting the organization’s deep respect and appreciation for their sacrifices.

Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, addressed the gathering, acknowledging the retirees’ invaluable contributions and the rich legacy of the Force. He emphasized that the ceremony was a gesture of gratitude for their unwavering dedication.

The ceremony featured heartfelt tributes, awards, and presentations to the retirees, who also paid their respects at the Assam Rifles War Memorial in Laitkor, Shillong. Additionally, they were briefed on various welfare schemes available for Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen.
