Guwahati: The result of the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination will be declared on April 28, bringing an end to the long wait of around 3.3 lakh students and their families across Assam.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the date through a social media post and wished all students success in their future. Education Minister Ranoj Pegu also extended his best wishes.
The HS final exams were held from February 11 to March 16 across 821 centres in the state. A total of 3,30,744 students appeared in the examination. Strict measures were taken to conduct the exams smoothly, including CCTV surveillance and deployment of flying squads. Section 163 was also enforced around exam centres to avoid any disturbance.
Among the streams, Arts had the highest number of students with over 2 lakh candidates. Science stream had more than 60,000 students, while around 19,000 appeared from Commerce. About 1,500 students appeared in the vocational stream.
This year’s exam is important as it is the first major examination conducted under the newly formed Assam State School Education Board, created after merging SEBA and AHSEC.
Sources said the result preparation work is almost complete. The results will be available online, allowing students to check them easily from home.
Students and parents across the state are eagerly waiting for the results, which will play a key role in deciding future education and career paths.
