Assam Cultural Trust Concludes Summer Workshop with Enthusiastic Participation
Guwahati: The Assam Cultural Trust, with support from Pragjyoti Sanskritik Samaj, successfully concluded its five-day Summer Workshop on July 20, 2025. The event took place at Pragjyoti Cultural Complex, Machkhowa, from July 16 to 20, drawing participation from 147 students aged 4 to 18.
The workshop offered engaging sessions in Art and Craft, Traditional Vocal Music, Yoga, and Meditation. It aimed to help children explore their creativity and connect with Assam’s rich cultural heritage.
The inaugural session on July 16 was graced by renowned folk artist Srimati Jina Rajkumari as the Chief Guest. Md Khalid Umar, Chairman of the Socio-Cultural Committee of the Trust, formally inaugurated the workshop.
The closing ceremony on July 20 featured Rahul Chandra Das, Director of Cultural Affairs, Assam, as the Chief Guest. He was felicitated for his contributions to the state’s cultural promotion, along with Bolin Bordoloi, Advisor of the Trust. In his address, Das encouraged children to embrace creativity and take pride in Assam’s traditions. He also handed out certificates to all participants.
Md Khalid Umar praised the children’s enthusiasm and thanked everyone involved. Advisor Bolin Bordoloi spoke on Assam’s cultural integrity, while Vice Chairman Balendra Kumar Das highlighted the importance of unity among communities through cultural exchange.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Arup Goswami, General Secretary of Pragjyoti Sanskritik Samaj, marking a successful conclusion to the Summer Workshop 2025.
