Assam CM Presents Appointment Letters to 41 Youth

Guwahati: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday presented appointment letters to 41 youth for various positions in the education department. This initiative is part of the state’s goal to provide jobs to 1 lakh youth. The event was held at Lok Sewa Bhawan.

Among the appointments, 22 candidates received compassionate appointments in the Directorate of Higher Education, 11 were appointed as assistant professors, one as a librarian under the Directorate of Technical Education, and seven as lecturers of DIET under SCERT. These new appointments bring the total number of government jobs provided to 97,495.

Chief Minister Dr. Sarma emphasized the importance of transparency and meritocracy in the appointment process. He announced plans to fill the remaining 13,000 posts by April 2025 and to absorb an additional one thousand youth into government jobs by August 15. Dr. Sarma also discussed future plans for a startup revolution in the state to create more employment opportunities.
