Assam CM Meets Tata Group Leaders, Promotes Advantage Assam in Mumbai

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, leading a high-level Assam government delegation, met Tata Group Chairman N. Chandrasekaran in Mumbai to discuss investment opportunities in Assam ahead of the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.

Dr. Sarma highlighted Assam’s potential in sectors such as infrastructure, green energy, tea, electronics, semiconductors, and skill development. He also interacted with Tata Group leaders, including CEOs of Tata Consumer, Tata Power, Tata Electronics, and other top executives.

The Chief Minister emphasized Assam’s 19.1% GSDP growth in FY 2024 and invited industry leaders to participate in the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, scheduled for February 25-26, 2025. The summit aims to showcase Assam as a hub for investment and infrastructure development.

The delegation also met with Sun Pharma executives, exploring opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Sarma will further engage with major industrialists from Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra Group, Adani Airports, HDFC Bank, HUL, Welspun Group, and others to attract strategic investments.

Highlighting Assam’s pro-investment policies, strategic location, and robust infrastructure, the Chief Minister called for investments across sectors such as renewable energy, aerospace, food processing, and defense manufacturing.

The Mumbai visit is part of a roadshow to promote Assam as a leading destination for businesses and industries in India.
