Assam CM Highlights Progress in State’s Start-Up Ecosystem

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the significant advancements in the state’s start-up ecosystem over the past three years, attributing the progress to his government’s robust support and initiatives.

In a tweet, Sarma announced that 489 startups have received comprehensive support from the state government during this period. To further foster entrepreneurship, the government has granted Rs 7 crore to 74 startups, aiding them in scaling their operations and realizing their innovative ideas.

Startups incubated at Assam Startup-The Nest, a dedicated incubator, have collectively raised an impressive Rs 100 crore in external funding, demonstrating the potential and viability of these ventures. Additionally, these startups have generated substantial revenue amounting to Rs 40 crore.

The chief minister also emphasized the employment impact, noting that these startups have created approximately 4,900 job opportunities, significantly contributing to the state’s economic development and offering a platform for skilled professionals.
