Assam Chief Minister Chairs Review Meeting on Key Initiatives

Guwahati : Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma led a comprehensive review meeting with Deputy Commissioners from the state’s districts at the Assam Secretariat Complex. The agenda covered updates on Mission Basundhara 2.0, progress in preparing ration cards for National Food Security Act beneficiaries, and discussions on Khel Maharan and Sanskritik Mahasangram programs.

Dr. Sarma emphasized the timely completion of Mission Basundhara 2.0 tasks to provide legal land documents to beneficiaries. He directed District Commissioners to expedite the preparation of ration cards for an additional 40 lakh beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act. The ongoing Khel Maharan and Sanskritik Mahasangram events were reviewed, with a focus on providing necessary support to participants.

In response to recent cases of land documentation forgery in Kamrup Metropolitan district, Dr. Sarma urged vigilance, particularly in Sub-Registrar and Deputy-Registrar offices. District Commissioners were instructed to combat illegal land transactions and forgery actively.

The meeting included Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur, Additional Chief Secretaries Dr. Ravi Kota, Samir Kumar Sinha, Biswaranjan Samal, and other senior officials.
