Guwahati : The prestigious All Assam Ranking Badminton Tournament 2023 commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony at Kanaklata Indoor Stadium on July 25. The event was inaugurated by Harmeet Singh, IPS, Special DGP, Assam Police, who graced the occasion as the chief guest and declared the tournament open.
Several dignitaries and badminton enthusiasts attended the ceremony, including Omar Rashid, Hony. Secretary Assam Badminton Association and Joint Secretary Badminton Association of India, Gautam Mahanta, Hony. Treasurer, Assam Badminton Association, and Binit Gogoi, National Referee & Chief referee of the tournament. Chandrakant Verma, Proprietor Verms Sports, along with Paresh Chandra Das, President of Guwahati Sports Association, and Amiyo Kumar Kalita, Treasurer of Guwahati Sports Association, were also present on the occasion.

The tournament witnessed an overwhelming response from players, with 700 participants from 27 districts of Assam showcasing their talent and skills in the competition. The esteemed sponsors of the tournament include Yonex Sunrise, State Bank of India, and Verma Sports.
