Guwahati: Alcheringa, the annual cultural festival of IIT Guwahati, commenced its 2024 edition with a inaugural night titled “Saaz” on March 7th, 2024. The event marked the beginning of a series of cultural celebrations set to captivate audiences in the days ahead.
Themed “Chromatic Elysium,” Alcheringa ’24 follows the journey of a young girl navigating an art block in a monotonous world, finding inspiration at an art exhibition in a museum filled with memories and Psychedelia.

“Saaz” showcased stellar performances by classical virtuosos including Manohar Balatchandirane, Danish Ali Khan, ShIkhar Naad Qureshi, and Mehtab Ali Niazi. Their mesmerizing melodies and enchanting rhythms set the stage for a unique blend of traditional and contemporary acts promised throughout Alcheringa 2024.
The festival’s lineup features international artists such as Charles B and Armaan Malik, promising electrifying performances on March 8th and 9th respectively.
