Guwahati: Assam down town University successfully organised “Success Meet 2026” on May 23, celebrating the remarkable placement achievements of its graduating batch. The event, hosted by the university’s Directorate of Career Advancement, brought together students, parents, faculty members and university leadership to mark a major milestone in the institution’s commitment to industry-oriented education and career-focused opportunities.
Held under the theme “From aspirations to accomplishments, every success story begins here,” the programme highlighted the inspiring journey of students transforming their dreams into professional success through dedication, guidance and perseverance.
The university announced that students secured more than 900 placement offers during the 2025–26 academic session through campus recruitment drives involving 121 leading companies. The highest package offered reached ₹9 lakh per annum, while the average package stood at ₹4.60 lakh per annum. More than 250 offers above ₹5 lakh per annum were also recorded, reflecting increasing industry confidence in the talent produced by the university.
Some of the major recruiters included HCLTech, PwC, LTIMindtree, Asian Paints, Wipro, Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sun Pharma and Lenskart among others.
The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Director (i/c), Directorate of Career Advancement, who spoke about the university’s vision of creating a strong culture of employability and professional excellence. She emphasised the importance of skill development, mentorship, industry exposure and career guidance alongside academic learning.
Vice Chancellor Narayan Chandra Talukdar congratulated the students and encouraged them to embrace lifelong learning, adaptability and innovation in an evolving global job market. He also stressed the importance of resilience, ethics and leadership in shaping successful careers.
The programme also featured inspiring success stories from placed students and emotional reflections from parents, making the celebration memorable for attendees. Students were felicitated with appreciation mementos, followed by group photographs and networking interactions.
