Guwahati : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership met with the parents of eight-year-old Avinash Sarkar, who tragically died after falling into an open drain in Jyoti Nagar. State Working Committee convener Dr. Bhaben Chowdhury, North Eastern Region objerver Rajesh Sharma, AAP ward member of Guwahati Municipal Corporation Masuma Begum, and party leaders Romen Borthakur and Ditul Barua visited Avinash’s family to offer their condolences and support.

Avinash Sarkar was swept away by an open drain during heavy rains, leading to artificial floods in the area. The AAP team urged the grieving father, Harolal Sarkar, to stay strong during this difficult time and assured the family of their support.
Additionally, the AAP representatives called on the government to take immediate and necessary steps to construct proper drainage systems under the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to prevent such tragedies in the future. The party emphasized the urgent need for improved infrastructure to ensure the safety and well-being of the city’s residents.
