Guwahati: Raijor Dal leader and Jaleswar constituency ticket aspirant Golam Babu Kibria has resigned from the party, expressing strong dissatisfaction over being denied a party ticket at the last moment.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, Kibria said he had been actively working for the party with the hope of contesting the election from Jaleswar, but was ultimately ignored despite his efforts.
“I joined Raijor Dal because I was inspired by its ideals, but today I feel mentally broken,” Kibria said while announcing his decision to leave the party.
His resignation highlights growing dissatisfaction among some Raijor Dal leaders and workers ahead of the upcoming electoral battle in Assam.
