Guwahati: To strengthen road safety awareness and promote safe practices among road users, a Defensive Driving and Road Safety Awareness Programme was conducted at various stretches of the Majirgaon–Palashbari Project.
As part of the initiative, Defensive Driving Training Programmes were organised for drivers and equipment operators working on the project. During the sessions, participants were educated on key road safety rules and safe driving practices, including the 3-Second Rule, maintaining safe following distance, adherence to prescribed speed limits, and the mandatory use of helmets and seat belts. Special emphasis was laid on defensive driving techniques to help drivers anticipate potential hazards and prevent accidents.
In addition, Road Safety Marches were held at multiple project locations to spread awareness among pedestrians and motor vehicle users. The marches highlighted important safety messages such as pedestrian safety, proper use of footpaths, controlled driving speeds, and consistent use of protective gear like helmets and seat belts.
The programme aimed to encourage responsible road behaviour and build a strong culture of road safety among all stakeholders associated with the Majirgaon–Palashbari Project.
