Guwahati: Peerless Hospital Guwahati has strengthened its Academic–Clinical Partnership with The Assam Royal Global University to improve medical education and practical training in the region. The partnership follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year.
Since the signing of the MoU, Peerless Hospital has started clinical exposure programmes, expert lectures, and hands-on hospital training for students of the Royal School of Medical & Allied Sciences (RSMAS). These activities help students gain real hospital experience and understand modern healthcare challenges.
Under the partnership, RSMAS students will continue to get opportunities in clinical training, internships, research work, and academic exchange programmes. The aim is to connect classroom learning with real-life medical practice, especially in Eastern and Northeast India, where trained healthcare professionals are in short supply.
The MoU was signed by Dr Gautam Kr Das, CEO of Peerless Hospital Guwahati; Dr Pranab Barua, Medical Superintendent and Director of the Emergency Department; Dr Diganta Munshi, Registrar (Administration) of Assam Royal Global University; and Dr Abhijit Dutta, Dean of RSMAS.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gautam Kr Das said there is a growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in Northeast India. He said the partnership will help prepare students with proper clinical skills and confidence before they enter the profession.
He also added that Peerless Hospital believes in industry-integrated medical education and will continue to support knowledge sharing and skill development in the region.
Since its inauguration in July, Peerless Hospital Guwahati has also organised speciality OPDs, health camps, preventive screening programmes, and community wellness activities. Through these efforts and academic partnerships, the hospital aims to improve healthcare quality, awareness, and access across Assam and the Northeast.
