Guwahati: The Guwahati Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for smooth movement of vehicles during the 2nd Test match of the IDFC First Bank India vs South Africa Test Series, scheduled at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, from November 22 to November 26, 2025.
The restrictions aim to ensure safety of the public and provide free passage for emergency vehicles.
Key Traffic Regulations Announced
1. Restrictions on Goods Vehicles
All commercial goods carriers and slow-moving vehicles will face restrictions on major roads including:
- B.K. Kakati Road
- A.K. Azad Road
- A.K. Dev Road
- Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road)
- Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path
- Mora-Bharalu Path
- Rajiv Gandhi Path (upto Jyotikuchi)
- F.A. Road
- Dhupolia Road
- Bishnupur Road
- R.K.C. Road
- Birubari–GMC Road
- Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay Road
Restrictions will remain in effect from 6 AM to 6 PM.
2. One-Way Systems for Match Days
A.K. Azad Road
- Will operate one-way from Lalmati Tiniali to Cycle Factory Tiniali.
- Vehicles will move only towards Cycle Factory Tiniali.
- No vehicle will be allowed from Cycle Factory towards Lalmati Tiniali.
Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road)
- Will operate one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali.
- Only vehicles with car passes can enter between 6 AM onwards.
Other Important Restrictions
- No vehicle allowed on Mora Bharalu Road towards ACA Stadium.
- On Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path, vehicles from NH-27 will be diverted via Ganeshpara Tiniali.
- No vehicle allowed on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path towards the stadium.
3. Parking Arrangements
Parking for Vehicles Coming via A.K. Dev Road
- Champabati Field: 150 LMVs (1.8 km from stadium)
- RCTRC Field, Fatasil Ambari: 50 LMVs (2.5 km)
- Champabati Field to Garchuk Tiniali: 250 LMVs
- Ambari Rangapahar Field: 200 two-wheelers
- Datalpara Field: 100 LMVs
- Ganeshpara Field: 100 LMVs
Parking for Vehicles Coming via A.K. Azad Road
- Vishal Marriage Hall: 100 LMVs (2 km)
- Rolling Mill Field: 80 LMVs
- Dakshingaon–Saukauchi Road: 50 HMVs
4. Entry Gates for Spectators (Nov 22–26)
- Gate No. 1A – Teams and PMOA
- Gate No. 1B – Car pass holders & commentators
- Gate No. 2 – Entry via Barsapara Road
- Gate No. 3 – Entry via R.G. Baruah Path
- Gate No. 4 – Entry via Rolling Mill Road
- Gate No. 5 & 6 – Entry via Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path
5. Post-Match Traffic
- Vehicles parked inside the stadium will exit towards Dhirenpara Tiniali or Barsapara Tiniali.
- From Barsapara Tiniali, vehicles will move towards Birubari or Lalmati.
- From Dhirenpara Tiniali, vehicles may exit towards Garchuk or Fatasil Ambari.
- Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Barsapara or Dhirenpara again.
6. Emergency Vehicle Priority
The order clearly states that these restrictions will not affect:
- Ambulances
- Fire tenders
- Oxygen cylinder carriers
- Life-saving drug vehicles
- School buses
- Milk vans
- Local residents
The advisory was issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Guwahati, effective from November 22 to 26 for the duration of the Test match.
These measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow and a safe experience for cricket fans attending the historic match at ACA Stadium.
