CBC and PIB Gangtok Conduct Cleanliness Drive Under ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ Campaign

Gangtok: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) and Press Information Bureau (PIB), Gangtok, organized a cleanliness drive at Akashvani Gangtok Kendra under the theme ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ with the sub-theme ‘Ek Kadam Swachhta Ki Aur’.

Staff members from PIB and Akashvani, including officials from the Engineering, News, and Administration departments, actively participated in the drive. The cleanliness activities covered the Akashvani premises and nearby areas.

Vinod Kumar Sharma, Programme Head of Akashvani Gangtok, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, Sharma emphasized that the essence of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign is to uphold cleanliness in both professional and personal life. He lauded Sikkim’s reputation as an organic and clean state, known for its civic sense and disciplined lifestyle, and urged residents to take collective responsibility in maintaining this standard.

Manas Pratim Sarma, Head of Office of PIB Gangtok and News Unit of Akashvani, underlined the importance of cleanliness in daily life. He informed that PIB and CBC will organize a series of awareness events in Sikkim throughout the month under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign.

To promote awareness, a quiz contest on the Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachhta Hi Seva campaign was also held, aimed at engaging participants and spreading the message of cleanliness.

The event was attended by Tarun Kumar Ghosh, Programme Executive, Mainak Chatterjee, News Editor, Satendra Kumar, Information Assistant, Rustam Lepcha, Senior Announcer, along with other staff members of PIB and Akashvani Gangtok.
