Guwahati: The Department of School Education, Government of Assam, and Samagra Shiksha, Assam distributed cheques of ₹5 lakh each to the families of 11 deceased contractual teachers under Samagra Shiksha. The event was held on January 21, 2025, at 12:30 PM in the Conference Hall of the State Mission Office, Samagra Shiksha, Assam.
Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, who attended as the Chief Guest, handed over the cheques to the families. The programme also saw the presence of other dignitaries, including Dr. Om Prakash, IAS, Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, and Sanjoy Dutta, ACS, Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha.
This compassionate initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the families of educators who dedicated their lives to the teaching profession. It stands as a tribute to their invaluable contribution to the education sector in Assam.
