Guwahati: West Guwahati College of Education organised Anti-Child Labour Day at Pandu Templeghat in Guwahati on June 12. Led by Principal Dr. Geetanjali Choudhury, teachers and students took out a rally in the Pandu area, carrying placards and banners with slogans such as “Stop Child Labour” and “Children for Education, Not to Earn.
In addition to the rally, students prepared a project report by exchanging views with parents living in slum areas, emphasizing the responsibility of parents to educate their children instead of allowing them to become labourers. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of eradicating child labour and promoting education for all children.
