Guwahati: In a stimulating interactive session organized by the Pandu College Science Forum, students and faculty had the privilege to engage with Dr. Binoy Kumar Saikia, recipient of the esteemed Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 2021. Dr. Saikia, renowned for his groundbreaking work in the field of science and technology, captivated the audience with insights into his research on fluorescent “carbon quantum dots” derived from Indian coal. Emphasizing the role of curiosity and innovation in research, Dr. Saikia inspired attendees from various science departments to explore new horizons. The session, led by Dr. Sanchay Jyoti Bora, Principal of Pandu College, witnessed a vibrant exchange of ideas and queries, with Dr. Saikia graciously addressing each one.
