Guwahati: AI and deeptech startup Ziroh Labs has expanded its CPU-first AI platform, Kompact AI, to support enterprise AI workloads across sectors.
The platform is designed for applications such as software testing, document processing, customer services, automation, cybersecurity and other industry-specific tasks. It focuses on smaller AI models and high-volume workloads that can run efficiently on CPU infrastructure.
Ziroh Labs Co-founder and CEO Hrishikesh Dewan said the next phase of AI adoption will require affordable and efficient infrastructure that gives organisations greater control over cost, performance and data.
Kompact AI is also being developed for sectors including healthcare, education, retail, fintech and sovereign deployments. The company is working with partners to develop industry-specific AI solutions.
Ziroh Labs is also working with academic institutions, including IIT Guwahati, to establish AI Centres of Excellence and provide students with access to practical AI infrastructure. It has also developed a 40-plus-hour AI and Large Language Model course with IIT Guwahati.
The company has partnered with academicians from IIT Guwahati for its Math Lab initiative, which explores the mathematical foundations of large language models and state-space models.
The initiative has received support from renowned cryptographer and 2015 ACM A.M. Turing Award winner Dr Whitfield Diffie, who described the use of AI on widely available CPU infrastructure as an exciting development.
Prof. S. Sadagopan, Founder Director of IIIT-Bangalore, also praised Ziroh Labs for building an ecosystem around affordable and energy-efficient AI.
