Guwahati: Assam’s young table tennis player Divija Paul has won the Under-13 Girls Singles title at the WTT Youth Contender in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, adding another international achievement to her growing career.
The tournament is being held from September 3 to 6, where Divija produced a dominant performance in the knockout stages.
In the final, Divija defeated Li Ting Yu of Chinese Taipei 3–0 to claim the championship.
She had earlier secured a 3–0 victory over the Philippines’ Kheann Smallman in the semi-final. In the quarter-final, she defeated another Philippine player, Olivia Rellama, also by a 3–0 margin.
Divija did not drop a single game in her three knockout matches, underlining her strong form and consistency throughout the decisive stages of the competition.
Her victory marks a significant achievement for Assam table tennis and highlights the growing presence of young players from the state on the international stage.
The Assam Table Tennis Association congratulated Divija Paul on her success and wished her continued achievements in future national and international competitions.
