Guwahati: Assam’s arm wrestler Kasturi Sharma has won two gold medals at the 6th BCAI National Arm Wrestling Championship held in Bengaluru, becoming a three-time consecutive national champion.
Competing in the 70 kg category, Kasturi secured gold medals in both the left-hand and right-hand events. In the final, she defeated Princy TJ of Kerala in both categories to clinch the titles.
With this achievement, Kasturi has successfully retained her national crown for the third consecutive time, further strengthening her position as one of India’s leading arm wrestlers.
Her performance has been widely praised by sports enthusiasts and officials, who described the victory as a result of her dedication, discipline and hard work.
The double gold medal victory has brought pride to Assam, with congratulatory messages pouring in from across the state for the champion athlete.
