Guwahati: The Gajraj Corps organised a special Drone Technology and Anti-Drone Measures Awareness Programme for NCC cadets participating in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-14 being conducted by 7 Assam Battalion NCC at Girijananda Chowdhury University in Guwahati.
More than 400 NCC cadets from across the North Eastern Region took part in the programme. During the session, officials from the Gajraj Corps introduced cadets to the latest developments in drone technology, its military applications and the growing role of unmanned aerial systems in modern warfare.
The cadets were also briefed on the role of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in national preparedness and security. Speakers explained that while NCC cadets do not serve in frontline combat roles, they play an important role in supporting civil defence, disaster response, logistics operations and community service during emergencies.
The programme also focused on anti-drone technologies. Experts explained how modern systems are used to detect, track and neutralise hostile drones. A live drone demonstration was conducted to give cadets practical exposure to these technologies.
The awareness programme helped participants gain a better understanding of future warfare, emerging security challenges and defence innovations, while encouraging them to contribute to nation-building through discipline, service and technological awareness.
